Greetings from the Head of School!
Wesley Academy is a family-oriented school, complete with diversity and unique learning experiences. It is nestled on a beautiful 17-acre campus in an eclectic section of southwest Houston. Wesley Academy exists to ensure a Christian educational environment, to provide the best education possible for each child, and to ensure a warm, inviting atmosphere for families and students. Character, Faith and Knowledge are the guiding principles of Wesley Academy. These principles can be seen woven in lessons both within and outside of the classroom. As students grow in Character, Faith, and Knowledge, they are prepared to face the future before them.
Character is built as the students learn and practice the Fruit of the Spirit. They are reminded in Chapel and in the classroom the characteristics of Christian living: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Learning experiences are crafted so that students are able to build character as they assist others. Good character is modeled by Christian faculty and students are encouraged to practice good character as they cooperate with one another.
Faith is built as students attend Chapel each week. Scripture verses are memorized, and biblical principles are discussed in the classroom. Even discipline becomes a teachable moment to build upon the faith of the students. Parents are equipped with ways to raise their children in faith.
Knowledge is gained through direct instruction and active learning experiences. Seasoned teachers plan and carry out creative lessons, and many varied teaching styles are observed. Students are encouraged to participate in group projects and to excel in independent work. Teachers work alongside students to create success in the learning process.
Great things are going on at Wesley Academy! Throughout the hallways, active learning is taking place. Friendships are building and spiritual growth is taking place. We invite you to visit Wesley Academy to see for yourself what a warm learning environment looks like.
