Middle School

We see Middle School as a transition from Elementary School to High School. This is one of the most difficult times in the lives of many students, so we strive to facilitate a safe and gradual maturing process both socially and academically. To obtain that goal, Wesley has two unique features.

The first is a self-contained Fifth Grade, which combines some of the aspects of Middle School with the security of one primary teacher.  Our program builds both academically and socially until our students are ready for High School.

The second is a major emphasis on Language Arts and Mathematics.  Wesley uses a block schedule for all courses except Language Arts and Mathematics.  Both of these courses are double-blocked, which means that students attend them every day for the longer class period.  This allows us to work specifically with students who struggle with these subjects and provides the opportunity to challenge those who excel.
